St. Louis Police and Art Gallery Collaborate on Fund Raiser
Collaboration Art Community Exhibition
St. Louis, MO September 10, 2015. 10th Street Gallery in collaboration with the Downtown St. Louis Police Bike Unit present Collaboration Art Community Exhibition October 9 - 24, 2015. Proceeds from the sale of artwork will benefit Jamyla Bolden’s 4th-grade class at Koch Elementary School in the Riverview Garden district.
Opening reception is Friday, October 9, 2015, 5:30 PM—8:30 PM. Complimentary valet parking.
The downtown police officers participated in a community art class taught by Solomon Thurman Jr, Co-Founder of 10th Street Gallery. The class produced several pen and ink sketches, as well as watercolors. Solomon’s son, Officer Solomon Thurman III is a member of the downtown bike unit and he also participated in the art class.
Art Instructor, Solomon Jr was recently featured in a one man retrospective exhibition titled, An Artistic Practice at Sheldon’s Bellwether Gallery, St. Louis.
10th Street Gallery exhibits works by local, national and international artists in all media. 10th Street actively supports the work of St. Louis artists and frequently collaborates on community events.
Support has been provided by the Downtown St. Louis Police Bike Unit and 10th Street Gallery.
