Najee Dorsey is a self proclaimed “artrepreneur”. An artrepreneur focuses on the business of art and being an artist. “Najee Dorsey converses with a variety of characters, confronting past narratives, personal demons, resistance, and independence. He applies various 2-D and 3-D formats to manipulate representations of historic figures, antiques, folktales, and vintage photos that create a narrative.” His acclaimed "Leaving Mississippi — Reflections on Heroes and Folklore: Works by Najee Dorsey" is currently on exhibition at the Columbus Museum, Columbus, GA through January 4, 2015. You can also see his work at St. Louis University Museum of Art (SLUMA) in St. Louis, MO in the “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” Exhibition. Prior exhibits this year, include the Booth Western Art Museum, Western American Art Museum, and Hammonds House Museum in Atlanta, GA.
